For my final project at General Assembly I worked in a group with my girlfriend to create a Ruby on
Rails application to help lessen the burden of having a digestive issue by yourself. TumMe is an online forum for people with digestive diseases to post about their
disease and seek support and advice to help ease the burden of having a digestive disease.
Users can also search recipes that fit their diseases restrictions. There is a custom google
search bar catered specifically for people with digestive issues, so that they are able to find
out more information.
This project is very personal to me because my girlfriend and I both suffer from digestive issues and know
how it feels to be on an endless journey for answers about your health. Having other people to talk to and
get advice from on issues that you may be going through can help easy the stress that comes along with digestive issues.
Future Features: We would like to add a food journal, doctor locator API, and also a meal prep API.
Users will soon be able to follow each other and will be have sections for each digestive disease to better suite
specific topics users may have.
